My name is Sarah Beth Irby.

I specialize in making The Citadel Cadet Nutcrackers and
Cadet Christmas ornaments of
The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina.

My father is a graduate of The Citadel, Class of '65.  Being the artist in the family, I try to make him something Citadel oriented every Christmas.
He has a room dedicated to "The Citadel" and when friends and family visit they always ask where they can purchase the items he has displayed....

Because of this, I started Carolina Cadets so that you too can have one in your home or office to enjoy.

~My Cadet Nutcrackers are inspired by and dedicated to my father,

Customer testimonials:

~I saw Sarah Beth's nutcraker at the alumni house during homecoming last fall (2006) and had to have one. Once I found out how to contact her, I asked about getting one by Christmas. She not only hooked me up with a 42 inch nutcraker by Christmas, she also added my cadet rank insinia as well. It would be a very nice addition to anyone's "CID" collection and I highly reccomend them to any Citadel guy (gender nuetral) out there. Now that she has a website I'll bet the orders come rolling in.
Thanks Sarah Beth

My husband and I got engaged on 12/24/2000. The next day his father got very very sick and for the next 3 1/2 years we helped his family to take care of him at home until his passing. His father is a graduate of The Citadel and he always talked about his experiences there. My husband is very close with his family, so there was a certain closeness he felt to The Citadel. Last year, for work, my husband was in Charleston and went to a craft show. He saw several different Citadel nutcrackers, but decided not to buy one due to the traveling he would have to with it. After he returned from his trip he was sorry that he didn't get one. He told me all about it and as the months went by he continued to talk about them. I finally decided to call The Citadel myself and ended up talking to someone who connected me to Sarah Beth, "the person who made them." On Christmas morning last year (2006) when my husband opened them, he was so touched that I tracked them down. So much, in fact, that they have remained out in front of our fireplace all year. I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate being able to give my husband such a special gift that will always hold a place in his heart. Thank you again.
Sincerely,

Sarah Beth : I ordered my cadet nutcrackers from you parent's weekend and they arrived today. My son is going to freak!  He is driving home for Thanksgiving furlow and I am going to have them at the foot of the stairs standing guard to his floor. They are beautiful and just what I had hoped. Thank you,
